These orchards are located in the Iowa communities of: Earlham, Iowa Falls, Montour, Marshalltown, Nashua and Strawberry Point.
Apple varieties contained in the bag make excellent pies and cakes, smoothies and casseroles. Each package contains up to 21 apple varieties, including some heirloom varieties. When you bake with our apples, know that you can celebrate local!
Iowa Choice Harvest apples are best used in recipes when partially frozen. Our frozen apples are just like using fresh apples that you peel, core and slice. They have NO PRESERVATIVES OR ASCORBIC RINSE ADDED. Our apples have no added sugars or sodium.
If you do thaw your frozen apples and wish to keep them from browning, place them in one cup of cold water, add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and let them soak for 4-5 minutes.
We work with each of our apple growers to keep spraying to a minimum. With the abundance of insects in Iowa, it is difficult to grow apples entirely without spraying, but our growers use limited spray regimens. Since our apples are peeled during processing, pesticide residues are minimal.
